Indy Students top 5 places to go for a Sweet Treat

With the weather getting nicer and hotter students at Indy are going out more. Here are our top 5 places to go in the area to cool down with a sweet treat.

  1. Jolly Rolls – 10020 Monroe Rd #110, Matthews, NC 28105

Jolly Rolls isn’t your average ice cream place, they put all the unfrozen ingredients that you want on a cold slab and mix it up until it freezes. Then they roll it up, put some extra decor on it and there you have it, ice cream. “I love this place, it is delicious and interesting. I highly recommend it” said Hope Vergara, a regular customer. “I love making people smile, people come in with problems and leave without problems” said a worker there.

2. Pop Bar – 3123 N Davidson St #102b, Charlotte, NC 28205

Pop Bar is a stylish and cute “bar” with a display of 4 different types of popsicles, and they also have shakes, frozen hot chocolate, and popBites.

3. Carolina Creamery – 11300 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227

Carolina Creamery is a locally owned homemade ice cream shop right in the middle of downtown Mint Hill. “I love the place and the ice cream is always good. You can tell they care about their customers” says junior, Zach Hill.

4. Pelicans Snoballs – 8009 Fairview Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227

Pelicans Snoballs is a reasonably priced shaved ice place with over 100 flavors ranging from Blueberry to Dill Pickle! “Pelicans is a great cheap place for families and a fun place to hang out with friends.” says junior Nydia Simmons. Pelicans also has an area to play cornhole with their set, and a volleyball net.

5. Fruiti Cup – 9009 J.M. Keynes Dr Unit 3, Charlotte, NC 28262

FruitiCup is a frozen yogurt place on the Boardwalk in the University area. It is a small family owned frozen yogurt shop. They have 2 bars full of different toppings that you can choose to put on top of your choice of frozen yogurt.  They also serve Boba Tea, Smoothies, and Coffee!
