Ms. Dellinger is leaving Independence High School March 4, 2016. She is being promoted to Executive Director of the East Learning Community.

Her current role being principal at Independence will be handed to a retired principal, so he will fit the job perfectly. The new principal is only a fill-in and Independence should have a new and permanent principal by the beginning of next year.

Ms. Dellinger announced her departure at a staff meeting last week and secretary Ms. Howard says, “I was shocked when she told us she was leaving.” Ms. Dellinger has been the principal at Independence High for 4 years. Much of her staff adored her.

Mr.Chadderton works at Independence and says, “I believe it’s important for her to share her vision and insight beyond the walls of the school and to expand upon her experience and expertise throughout the community.” Mr.Chadderton is happy for Ms.Dellinger as she takes on a bigger role in the community. “I look forward to see the impact that Principal Dellinger will forge within the community and I wish her all the best in her new role.”

Staff members and students are surprised about Ms. Dellinger’s departure but everyone is very proud of her decision. Be sure to congratulate Ms. Dellinger on her new position and tell her how great of  a job she’s done at Indy.
