Independence Yearbook Staff is accepting Snapchat pictures from students to be included in the yearbook.
Being in the yearbook is something very exciting for any high school student. There is nothing worse however, than having a picture that looks like you just rolled out of bed. Yearbook is working on getting rid of that problem by allowing students the freedom on what they want to have printed in the yearbook so they are well pleased with the product or their picture.
The Independence Yearbook Staff has worked very hard to get students involved and interacting. In previous yearbooks the staff has tried to get people involved in school functions or clubs to be able to be in the group photos. The yearbook has come up with a new way to get people involved because they understand people have busy schedules.
Independence yearbook now has a snapchat! You can send your hilarious, cute, serious, or group pictures to @Indy_Yearbook and that photo will be revised and considered for the yearbook. ¨This is a neat way for everyone around the school to show us what goes on around Indy and it helps people have something fun to do during school!¨ says Lexi Moore, creator of the yearbook Snapchat page.
“I think it is cool you can update things that are going on in your class ” Eduardo Mayo, a junior said. Maybe instead of just outside school functions in the yearbook at lunch, students could send in a picture to keep the yearbook updated and more interesting to see what is going on in students life everyday here at Independence.
¨Overall this snapchat has helped us to encourage students and take something they use everyday so they would enjoy school a little more by molding around this generation¨ Moore says. However, teachers are concerned this could start a distraction in class. Following the cell phone policy and participating, the snapchat for the yearbook will be a success!
